Terrible capital vacations experience and monsterr vacations

Terrible capital vacations experience and monsterr vacations
Terrible capital vacations experience and monsterr vacations - Image 2

We paid $100 to Spinnaker to arrange a vacation. We were told that we would receive this payment back upon our meeting. Then, we had to make a booking with Monster, which cost us another $150. So, a refund of $250 was expected. We received a four-day-three-night stay at Capital Vacations at the Maritime Beach Club Resort in North Myrtle Beach. We were informed that we needed a credit card for our check-in at the hotel. Although I possess a credit card, it was misplaced during our trip to your resort from Mississippi. I tried calling the hotel and they confirmed that we didn't need a major credit card to stay with them. Comforted, we attempted to connect with Capital Vacations over the phone several times, even walking up to their office located in a strip mall in a building no larger than GameStop. However, none of the Capital Vacations staff responded, despite some walking past me and others merely glancing at me without speaking. I ultimately left without getting any help.

On the day of the meeting, we arrived early to question them again. The staff handed us a form to fill out. Although we didn't have a physical card, we did have a digital card. However, the attitude of the staff was highly unprofessional, short and rude. We weren't given any chance to explain. They quickly dismissed our questions and concerns, and referred us to another person, while continuously staring at us the whole time. This person told us we needed to reschedule to get our refund. Even though we were there and could prove we had a card, the staff made my wife extremely anxious to the point she had a panic attack. We left the meeting soon after calming her.

I promptly called both you and Monster to report the incident, and how poorly I was treated. I was then informed that there was nothing that could be done. I was told that the only way to get our refund was through Capital Vacations as they were the ones controlling it. Moreover, I was told by your staff that these trips are for the less fortunate! I tried calling the customer service desk at Capital Vacations, but my calls were forwarded to a voice mail. I detailed my experience and left my contact information. Regardless, I will not be engaging with these unprofessional companies again.

Capital Vacation Lied to me several times

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Don't believe any of the garbage they tell you. I attended one of their presentations where the pitchman, just doing his job, tried to sell me an overpriced package that turned out to be a complete scam.

I say it was a scam because they kept decreasing the price. The worst part came at the end when they handed me my 'gift'. Even that was a scam. I was promised a $100.00 gift card, which I received, but it was worthless.

They put $100 on it and promptly took it back. Despite making over a dozen calls to resolve the issue, they flat-out refused to do anything about it. They also gave me an utterly useless cruise certificateso many restrictions make it impossible to use, not in summer, not in spring, not ever. They even offered a certificate for a supposed three-night stay, which turned out to be only two nights, and the upfront costs for this 'free' stay make it hardly worth the trouble.

Just look at the countless other negative reviews. They paint a vivid picture of this company's true nature. You would do well to steer clear of Capital Vacations. Here's a copy of their "gift" restrictions

Very aggressive sales approach

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My wife and I had resort stay in Florida. They called me a legacy owner since I purchase a timeshare in 2000.

I sat down with them and the lies and approach used was so misleading.

They wanted me to switch over to their vacation plan for $33,000 stating I was making a mistake by not doing so. Very nasty approach.

Terrible experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My interactions with Capital Resorts have left me angry and frustrated!. The way in which this

company conducts its business is far from ethical and lacks integrity.

Their questionable practices

have had a negative impact on my not only my traveling but my finances as well.. Our decision to

engage with Capital Resorts was met with promises that failed to materialize. The resort location

provided for our daughter in Jamaica was subpar, falling short of basic safety and maintenance

standards. The accommodations they provide are no where near the beautiful resorts shown in the

presentations.

I am committed to sharing my detailed and accurate account of the discrepancies

and unethical behaviors demonstrated by Capital Resorts. It is crucial to alert others to these

concerning practices in the hope of preventing further individuals from enduring similar hardships.

My experience with Capital Resorts has been nothing but disappointment and regret. It is imperative

for consumers to be informed about the realities of dealing with this company and the pressure they

apply to purchase today and today only. Remember, transparency and honesty should form the

foundation of any legitimate business operation.

And there is none of that here. Nothing but lies and

refusal to make things right. My advice is to never go to a Capital or timeshare presentation no

matter how many incentives they offer. You will pay for them in the long run.

Timeshares are way

more expensive than simply booking online and having the freedom to vacation when and where you

want.

A timeshare only limits your vacation options and forever you will be subjected to upgrade

meetings during your precious vacation time. JUST DONT DO IT!!

She’s right about Capital Vacations. However, timeshares can save you money if you use them.

Paying an annual fee as an owner and then not using your time is a waste of money. But if you compare the cost of renting say a 2 bedroom unit versus owning the rights to using that same type of unit, you will generally find it by is cheaper to own. If the time is available that is which is the other problem with timeshares.

There’s other owners in the system who are vying for time against you. The best way around this is to try and reserve your time at the beginning of the period during which you can make reservations.

Capital Vacations - Wouldn’t let me reschedule
Capital Vacations - Wouldn’t let me reschedule - Image 2

I purchased this 4-night trip in 2022 at a music festival. It's finally scheduled for this upcoming weekend.

My daughter fell and dislocated her elbow and had to take an ambulance to ER. Now, 3 days a week, she's in PT. I wanted to reschedule for next month. I was told that I lost my initial $50 deposit and now have to pay an additional deposit to reschedule.

The only acceptable reason for cancellation is Covid, which is not posted anywhere.

Customer service is ridiculous. This is not a way to earn my business.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.

Original review Jun 11, 2024
As all these predatory companies do, they try to get you to purchase a vacation guarantee that, within 30 days, if you want to cancel, they'll give you your money back. However, when you call to get your money back, as I did within four days, they tell you they don't have anybody to take your phone call and will have a supervisor call you back within 3 to 5 days.

When they don't call you back and you call again, they will tell you the exact same thing until your 30 days is up! Do not do business with this company.

I don't know how a normal person could work for a company that requires them to lie continuously. I filed fraud with my bank and I will take them down that way.

Misleading

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am deeply frustrated with the lack of support and misleading information I have received from Capital Vacations regarding my timeshare. I have been in touch with Ryan Davies about canceling my timeshare, and he informed me that nothing could be done until my loan is paid off.

This is unacceptable given the issues I have faced that led to my decision to cancel. I have dealt with two different sales representatives, neither of whom has kept their word. When I text or call them, they do not answer. They provide information that customer service cannot help with, forcing me to try to get in contact with them directly.

Despite assurances that they are available for questions and guidance, this has not been my experience. Another major problem is the booking process. I was told that unless I book at least 4 weeks ahead of time, its not guaranteed I will find what I'm looking for, making it incredibly difficult to plan trips.

This level of service is far below what I was led to expect when I signed up. I urge Capital Vacations to take immediate action to address these issues and provide a clear, honest path for me to cancel my timeshare

Unsatisfied stay-sea mist-

want to inform you that I had a horrible experience at one of your resorts (Sea Mist Resort).

We were booked and confirmed for Beachside Village Resorts for 9/10-9/11). We arrived there on 9/11 around 7:30 pm and was informed that we did NOT have a reservation because this location was over booked.

She said an email was sent on 9/5. We did not see that email because it went into my junk folder. Here we are on vacation thinking we had a reservation but did not. They sent us to Sea Mist Resort and said all expenses were paid.

That was not the case, we had to pay 386.00 because he said the stay had not been paid for. We drove 20 mins to Sea Mist, and it was nothing compared to Beachside Village Resorts.

Sea mist resort rooms smelt very bad, and we felt unsafe in that resort. We called the # at Beachside Village Resort for over an hour and no one answered.

Pack of lies! Never honor their promises/obligations of your timeshare

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

When I purchased my timeshare, I was told the cost would be $19,000. However, this amount has now increased to about $40,000.

This lack of transparency has not only broken my trust but also caused a big financial burden for me. From the start, the sales process had many red flags. I chose to overlook these, hoping that the experience would match the promises made by Capital Vacations' representatives. Sadly, this has not been the case.

The benefits they promised have fallen short, with availability issues making it hard for us to use the timeshare. This has decreased the value of owning it. The most urgent issue is my attempt to exit the timeshare ownership. I have been told that the only way to do this is to pay off the loan in full.

This demand is both unreasonable and unfeasible. This condition was never clearly communicated during the purchase, and I believe it unfairly traps customers in agreements that no longer serve their interests or financial capabilities.

Angry

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We signed up for a vacation package, not realizing that this was for a timeshare. Nothing but the run around.

When I tried to use the package, they insisted on knowing my annual income and demanded a credit card. When I told them no, I just got the run around. I asked for my money back, and they said that I had to ask for it within 30 days of purchase. They did NOT tell me that when I purchased the thing and only asked for the income and credit card when I tried to use it.

I mean, it's paid for, why do you need that information? When I try to call and talk to them about it, I am put on hold until a recording comes on and tells me to leave a message. All of this occurred the DAY BEFORE we were to leave for our vacation. I just cancelled them and paid for it myself.

A very expensive lesson learned. Please do NOT do business with them. They are scam artists, and I am embarrassed that I was taken in. When I finally did get someone on the phone, she said that I didn't listen when they sold me the package.

I just hung up. I was so angry. It is ridiculous that they are able to get away with this.

I just want my money back. You can bet that I will NEVER do business with them in any form.

Never was able to use it!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Our experience with this timeshare has been deeply dissatisfying, actually regrettable. Originally enticed by the persuasive promises of the salesmen, our decision to invest was made in good faith, under the assumption of receiving value and enjoyment from our purchase.

Unfortunately, the reality fell short of the phony presentation. The differences between what was promised and what is actually provided have been very different. Features and amenities were oversold, availability is far more restricted than we were led to believe, and the customer service in addressing our concerns has been woefully inadequate. The sales tactics employed were misleading, preying on our trust and excitement for potential vacations that now seem more burdensome than leisurely.

We are currently seeking a way out of this agreement, a process that has been met with resistance and a lack of support from the timeshare company. This has been a lesson learned the hard way, and we advise future buyers to proceed with caution, armed with skepticism and thorough research.

We rented out our Cape Cod timeshare. All the years before Capital Vacations, they would rent it out for anywhere from 4 to 5 days through The Cove at Yarmouth.

Capital Vacations took over and rented it for 1 day and never paid us.

After 5 phone calls and false promises, they kept our money. Run, run, this is a nasty company.
